Asilomar Watercolor
Workshop: October 5 - 9, 2008 This is my 26th
annual workshop in Pacific Grove, between Monterey and Carmel,
California. We paint on location (weather permitting) and/or
inside in our own conference room. The package includes all
meals, housing, instruction and critiques with a demonstration and
lecture every day. A $100. deposit will hold your space in the
workshop. Flyers and deposit forms will be out by February,
2008.
Fall color in Yosemite, October 20
- 25: FREE, drop-in classes in beautiful
Yosemite National Park. In 2007, the teaching season has been
extended to October. I will be the last instructor on the
list, taking people out every day, leaving from the Art Activity
Center near the Village Store. Just show up at the Center
around 9:30 AM, sign the daily sheet, and follow me outside at 10
AM. We will use the free Valley Shuttle to the locations.
Bring your paints and equipment or buy what you need at the Art
Center. When I am there, my cards, prints, daily
demonstrations and a few framed originals will be at the Center;
part of the sales will benefit the Yosemite Association and enable
the art program to continue. The campgrounds will still be
open at that time for those who love the outdoor experience.
Best of all, the river will be low, the reflections fabulous, and
fall color everywhere! I painted this scenery in October 2007 and
believe me, it is spectacular! You don't need to reserve with
me, just show up in Yosemite! The complete listing of all
instructors for 2008 will be posted on their www.Yosemite.org website in
early 2008.

waffles, and sea food. We will also enjoy seeing hand made lace,
the quaint buildings, view famous Flemish painters like Rubens and
Brueghel, plus do a little shopping here and there. The current

include all transfers from Brussels, land transportation, housing,
most meals prepared by our own chef (including a champagne
reception), entrance fees, and more. For additional information,
please check out a similar Belgium itinerary from
www.frenchescapade.com.
I
will have a pre-trip gathering at my studio for discussing logistics
and a lesson on journaling with pen, ink and watercolor. I plan on
arranging an exhibit in 2009 of our Belgium paintings as I did last
year at the Beecher Room of the Placer County Library in Auburn
(where we showed our paintings of France from the 2007 tour).
Jackie, the Owner and Director of French Escapade is Belgian and our
wonderful multi-lingual guide. Valerie, our French chef, is also
multi-lingual and a terrific cook. You are guaranteed many laughs,
great fun, marvelous scenery and plenty to paint. Don’t wait. It
is only for 7 people!
